It is not all houses that are lucky enough to come with a basement. They are a much used feature, but not in every home. Some dwellings are less fortunate if they have that unused, dirt floored cave we commonly know as a crawl space.
In a lot of homes it can be quite low and more often than not, you have to belly crawl when under there. Occasionally these crawl spaces are set up with lights, but in some older buildings they may not have them.
Individuals might be curious why you would ever find it necessary to get in there at all, but there are quite a lot of explanations. Something might occur when you need know if there could be standing water under there. This is a more annoying problem than you think, especially with aged living spaces whose foundations will possibly not be as waterproof as they once were.
