Detroit senior citizens cram Cobo, hoping for some help with home repairs
Her porch is crumbling, her kitchen floor is warped, and water is seeping into her basement. But Inez Lockhart, 87, can't afford the repairs. She was one of hundreds of Detroit seniors who gathered Saturday morning at Cobo Hall to participate in a lottery of nearly $2.5 million in federal home repair grants up to $12,000 per household.
